Bethlehem Township Volunteer Fire Company

Fire and Rescue

Since 1946, the volunteers of Bethlehem Township Volunteer Fire Company have answered the call for fire and rescue emergencies in Bethlehem Township. Today, more than 50 active members respond from our station at 1919 8th Street.

What we do

  • Fire suppression: structure, vehicle, and brush fires, with engines carrying thermal imaging, foam systems, and self-contained breathing apparatus.
  • Vehicle rescue: extrication at motor vehicle crashes using hydraulic rescue tools, air bag systems, and forcible entry equipment.
  • Water rescue: a marine unit and rescue boat for incidents on local waterways.
  • Technical and search rescue: specialized rescue operations and searches, supported by off-road vehicles for hard-to-reach areas.

See the full fleet on our Apparatus page, and where we respond on our Coverage Area page.

Trained and ready

Our members train every Monday evening, and our station has a training room, communications room, and live-in quarters, so crews are ready to respond around the clock.
