Bethlehem Township Volunteer Fire Company

Emergency Medical Services

Bethlehem Township Volunteer Fire Company has provided Emergency Medical Services since 1956. From the start, we have been committed to staffing the most qualified personnel and carrying the best life-saving equipment available, so that our residents get the best possible care.

Advanced life support

Our three EMS stations provide primary Advanced Life Support (ALS) coverage for Bethlehem Township, Lower Nazareth, Freemansburg Borough, and Bath Borough. We also provide ALS in cooperation with Basic Life Support (BLS) agencies in Hanover Township and Moore Township, and we assist neighboring agencies when requested. See our coverage area for details.

Every ALS ambulance has a paramedic on board. Our crews can detect a heart attack early, start medications to keep the patient stable, and alert the Emergency Department so it can prepare before the patient arrives. We carry medications and equipment for diabetic emergencies, COPD and asthma, cardiac arrest and other heart conditions, pain, broken bones, and breathing problems.
